Pasadena, Texas is a city located in the southeastern part of Harris County. It has a population of over 150,000 people and covers an area of nearly 45 square miles. The city was founded in 1893 by John H. Burnett and named after Pasadena, California.

All year long, the center and its surroundings are home to White-tailed Deer, Red-shouldered Hawks, Opossums, Crows, Armadillos, Coyotes, Raccoons, American Alligators, Tricolored Herons, and the uncommon Purple Martin. The largest migratory bird path in North America, the Central Flyway, passes by the Armand Bayou Nature Center.
