The USS Lexington also appeared on the Pearl Harbor set from 2001. The USS Lexington is close to the area of museums in Corpus Christi. There are occasionally gardening programs held in the nearby Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens and Nature Center. The Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge on Oso Bay, next to the Pharaoh Valley development, is well-known for seabird watching. A sanctuary for migratory and coastal birds is the neighboring Pharaohs golf course.

Padre Island and Mustang Island, which are both east of Corpus Christi, are home to a number of municipal, state, and national parks, most notably the Padre Island National Seashore. The city is also close to King Ranch, one of the biggest ranches in the world and the inspiration for the Giant movie.
