School Safety Certification
Armed private security guards are typically only deployed at the front entrance of a school. Many teachers and administrators feel this is insufficient, and want to take the step of personally participating in student safety.
The School Safety Certification course is a state authorized 16 hour training program that includes 250 rounds on the range, requiring a 90% score to pass. It includes hands-on simulation for active shooter response drills and “stop the bleed” emergency trauma care. The training focuses on every aspect of active shooter response, including use of firearms.
This training will certify them to carry weapons on campus with the written permission of the school. Carrying a firearm on campus is a deeply personal decision and one which should not be taken without proper consideration and education. The comprehensive program will take civilians through the legal, technical and moral aspects of bringing a firearm into a student space.
Armed civilians have frequently saved lives through prompt action in dangerous situations and Ranger Guard is proud to offer this service. Whether or not an individual chooses to bring a firearm into school, this course will train them to respond appropriately in critical emergency situations.
